Inspire And Change Promoting - How To Develop A Sustainable Community

Inspiring and promoting change from each individual, community group through exchange and sharing is the way to develop a sustainable community.

That is the goal of the sharing kick-off forum organized by Caritas Dalat on 2 days from June 8-9, 2020 at the Da Lat Pastoral Center.

The forum gathered more than 30 delegates who were representatives of many farmer groups/local communities in the diocese such as Cilmu, Pang Sim, Da Nha, Ma Danh, Dung Knoh, B'Sumrac, Dinh Trang Hoa, etc.

Speaking at the forum, Caritas Da Lat director - Father John Bosco Hoang Van Chinh highly appreciated the presence showing the goodwill and efforts of individuals and community groups, especially in the exchange process, sharing, learning together, and giving initiatives, and jointly promoting change, active (strong) community supporting the limited community towards comprehensive development.

During the 2 days of the forum, the participants listened to and shared about typical production models and community organizations formed by local farmer/community groups such as: organic vegetable cooperatives IEM GÕH - Tutra provides clean vegetables to Ho Chi Minh, a practice model of coffee cultivation for grass and the production and processing group of organic coffee brand Oh Mi Ko Ho - Dinh Trang Hoa has launched the product to consumption market, the group of young people working together in production in B'sumrac, how to organize and operate the community in Cipmu...

Through the forum, the participants shared together about the process of changing together, it was a process of constant learning, jointly building the forum's principles, building a plan to share and spread to the community.

Called the Kick-off Forum, it was the beginning of a series of forums that will be held over the next two years in the People Led Development (PLD) program and also the forum. The first forum Caritas Da Lat organized with the aim of inspiring and promoting change from the individuals and community groups who attended. Further, the forum wants to aim at building actions to protect our common home (Laudato Si).

In the coming time, forums related to different fields of activities of Caritas Da Lat will also be held.
