People With Disabilities Are Confident To Change

People with disabilities confidently change was the topic of the kick-off forum taking place from September 24 to 25, 2020 organized by Caritas Da Lat.

About 30 participants who were also people with disabilities and who were leaders by themselves, the representatives of the Association of People with Disabilities in Lam Dong province and 9 associations of people with disabilities in the province participated.

On the first day of the forum, the participants listened, exchanged and shared some highlights in the activities of a number of disabled people's associations, thereby building action plans and building commitments to walk together in the journey of change.

Next, the participants were able to attend training on effective communication skills in multi-stakeholder partnership. That helped the participants to gain more knowledge, skills and spirit in the process of change together, with the content of dialogue, non-violent communication presented by Deputy Director of Caritas Da Lat – Dinh Thi Hong Phuc.

In the opening speech, Caritas Da Lat Director - Father John Bosco Hoang Van Chinh expressed his gratitude for all participants who came with enthusiasm and sacrifice to overcome difficulties in order to attend and join hands in building the action program, working with Caritas Da Lat for people with disabilities. Caritas Da Lat with its small contribution would always be ready to accompany disabled and disabled people's associations.

This kick-off and training forum aimed to inspire change among attendees and built the forum's progress over the next 2 years. Caritas Da Lat together with disabled people's associations are committed to accompanying each other in a common program with the aim of supporting people with disabilities to integrate into the community.
