The Process Of Exchange And Learning Of Farmers In The PLD Forum - CLEP 1

After the great success in the forum started at the pastoral center of Da Lat and continued in the process of continuous learning and practice to create change. On the morning of July 27, the participants came together very early to attend the program "The 1st PLD Community Forum" which took place in 3 days from July 27-28-29 organized by Caritas Da Lat, held at Dinh Trang Hoa parish.

Attending the forum were more than 40 participants from communities in the self-development program project site - also representatives of elite members of the parishes of Da Tong, Phi Lieng, Tu Tra, and Dang K. 'No, Kala, Da Loan and Dinh Trang Hoa parish.

After a few moments of getting to know each other, Ms. Maria Goretti  Dinh Thi Hong Phuc - Deputy Director of Caritas Da Lat gave the opening speech. According to her, this is the first forum held in the community based on the foundation built from the kick-off forum held on June 8-9, 2020 - a continuous learning process through the forum chain.

Cultural activities start

During 3 days at Dinh Trang Hoa parish, participants were emphasized more on the role of motivation, participation, had the opportunity to learn and practice some methods of promoting among groups, express and reflect problems encountered in food production today. Here, the participants heard about the self-development roadmap of Dinh Trang Hoa community since receiving the program to villages 1B and 5B, thereby seeing the difficulties, challenges and achievements of the community.

In addition, in this 1st forum, the participants had the opportunity to experience field trips to visit villages, successful models in Dinh Trang Hoa such as organic coffee roasting, grass-fed coffee, farmers practice, grafting coffee, butter, making compost, some biological products and cultural artistic exchanges.

Especially sharing the seeds of the communities was also a highlight in the program leaving many sacred emotions, seeing the very important seed value attached to farmers because they would be the ones who can keep the seeds and maintain the seed.

After each journey, the participants sat and reviewed what they have seen and heard, recognized good and bad points to contribute to community building, quiet moments, and share participants' feelings after the trip. After then the participants came up with a plan to practice sustainable agriculture at home and in the community, promises to continue to learn together in the next forum process.
