Beyond being a moment of reflection, the event was a time to share stories, emotions, and milestones from years of dedicated service.  Over this period, Caritas Da Lat has worked tirelessly to bring hope and holistic care to 133 male and 99 female patients, integrating psychological, social, medical, and spiritual support into their lives.

LOOKING BACK: A JOURNEY OF COMPASSION AND CARE

Over the past three years, Caritas Da Lat has organized 36 group activities across both Trong Duc campuses, fostering learning, bonding, and emotional support for the residents. For core group patients in stable condition, Caritas provided opportunities for social reintegration through picnics and excursions to locations such as Nha Trang, Lagi, Da Lat, and Vinh Son Waterfall. Additionally, sports exchanges and community service projects, including grave maintenance for deceased patients, were organized to promote a spirit of responsibility and shared humanity.

Strengthening family connections: A key focus of the project was reuniting and reconnecting patients with their families: 59 families were engaged through outreach and support. 11 rehabilitation cases were successfully facilitated, ensuring both material and emotional support for reintegration. Caritas Dalat also conducted regular home visits to provide encouragement and assistance to families caring for their loved ones. Creating joy through celebrations: Throughout the year, major holidays such as Tet, Christmas, and Easter were celebrated with fairs, games, and quizzes, bringing moments of joy and togetherness to patients. Staff Well-being & Professional Development: Recognizing the emotional demands of mental health care, Caritas Da Lat prioritized the well-being of its team by organizing: Lenten and Advent retreats for spiritual renewal. Professional training sessions to enhance skills and sustain motivation in this unique caregiving environment.

Mr. Bui Van Thu (Male campus owner): "Many people hesitate to work with individuals facing mental illness, but Caritas staff have made incredible efforts to care for patients. Their dedication has brought about visible, positive changes."

Mr Soi (Family representative of the rehabilitation group): "The outings and gatherings bring immense joy to both patients and their families. However, when mentally ill individuals are reintegrated into the community, neighbours often react with fear.
