Trong Duc Social Protection Community Celebrates Easter

Friday, April 9, 2021

Easter is the central event of the Catholic Faith. Therefore, in the liturgical year, Easter is the most solemn feast day of the Catholic people. Catholics not only place the Easter Good News in their beliefs and liturgical ceremonies, but also manifest it through festivals such as music, feasts, etc. Particularly in the liturgy, Catholics have a long week called the Octave of Easter, to express joy and live the mystery of the Death and Resurrection of the Son of God in a special and perfect way. On Friday, April 9 in the octave of Easter, Caritas brothers and sisters celebrated Easter together with the patients at Trong Duc Social Protection Community, Duc Trong district.

In the spirit of looking forward to the second Sunday of Easter, we together watched a movie about Saint Faustina - a witness of God's Divine Mercy. The brothers and sisters watched the interesting film attentively to discover how the Lord revealed His image of Mercy to Saint Faustina. This film screening was a special activity for us, with the hope that Saint Faustina's examples of virtues will help us to obtain the motivation to overcome difficulties and trials in life. Through that, you can experience how much God's Divine Mercy loves each of us.

After the film screening was a solemn Mass, celebrated by Father Joseph Le Vu Thanh Trung, auxiliary parish priest of the Da Lat Cathedral. The Mass was warm and fervent, as a plea prayer for God's grace to come down on each person, especially for the brothers and sisters at Trong Duc Social Protection community.

After Mass, Caritas Dalat served meals for the brothers and the patients. We rejoiced and wished to connect each patient with the simple joy of Easter. Through all activities and programs here, we experience God's mercy and ecclesial communion in a spirit of charity. May God continue to pour out His blessings on everyone, and may many more charitable hearts commit themselves to others.

Halleluia – Happy Easter to everyone and every home.
